Vitamin EUpdated 2 days ago

Why does Vitals⁺ include Vitamin E?

Vitamin E is a vital antioxidant that helps protect your cells from damage and supports long-term immune health, skin resilience, and tissue repair.

Vitals⁺ provides 31mg of Vitamin E (as tocopherol succinate), delivering 258% of your NRV. This generous—but safe—dose is designed to support full-body protection, especially in times of increased oxidative stress.

🤔 What does Vitamin E actually do?

Vitamin E is best known for its antioxidant properties and cell-protecting abilities. It:

  • Supports normal immune system function

  • Maintains healthy skin, hair, and nails

  • Supports teeth and mucous membrane integrity

  • Helps neutralise free radicals, protecting lipids in your cell membranes

As a fat-soluble vitamin, it stores in your body’s tissues—especially in fat and the liver—so it can offer longer-term protection even between meals.

🤔 Why tocopherol succinate—and why that dose?

We use tocopherol succinate, a stable, highly bioavailable form of Vitamin E that’s easy for your body to convert into active α-tocopherol—the only form EFSA considers physiologically essential.

EFSA sets an Adequate Intake (AI) at 11mg/day for women and 13mg/day for men, but real-world intakes often fall short—especially on diets low in nuts, seeds, and healthy oils.

Our 31mg dose helps ensure you’re well above the recommended baseline—without approaching the tolerable upper intake level (UL) of 300mg/day.

🔎 Want to explore the science?

EFSA’s Scientific Opinion on Vitamin E details how α-tocopherol supports immune function, protects fats in membranes, and accumulates in adipose tissue for longer-term benefits.
